On Thursday 25th of September 2019, the TBC received one of the titans of Dubai’s business and corporate world, Osman Sultan, who was the guest speaker of our last « Leadership Series » event (in conversation with Naoufer Ramoul, TV host and presenter).
The TBC Dubai & Northern Emirates, was represented by its President Fathi Ben Grira for a gathering organized by the Tunisian Central Bank focusing on the investment opportunities offered to the Tunisian diaspora.
TBC Dubai & Northern Emirates, in partnership with the French Business Council and the German Business Council (AHK), participated to a joint-networking event held on the 11th of June 2019 at Neos – The Address Downtown Hotel. On the 13th of May 2019, the TBC Dubai & Northern Emirates participated to a Joint Business Councils Iftar held at The Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding.
On the 10th of April 2019, the TBC Dubai & Northern Emirates and the TBC Abu Dhabi received, in Dubai, Hatem Ferjani, Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of Economic Diplomacy.
On the 17th of April 2019, the TBC Dubai & Northern Emirates, in association with TBC Abu Dhabi, received Hamdi Osman, former FedEx SVP Europe, Middle East, Indian Sub-continent, Africa and Central Asia, as speaker for its Leadership Series.
During that event, Hamdi Osman shared with TBC’s guests his experience at the helm of FedEx where he was in chare of more than two third of the world’s global population.
He also gave behind the curtains insights on the development of the logistics industry in Dubai, UAE and the whole region. Finally Hamdi gave his opinion and experience on Tunisia as he is the owner of several locally based venture in the country.
On the 11th of April 2019, the TBC Dubai & Northern Emirates, represented by its President Mr. Fathi Ben Grira, received in Dubai, General Moez Masmoudi for a working session to discuss the role of the Tunisian Customs in facilitating potential investments in Tunisia by the Tunisian business community based in the UAE, and more specifically for members of TBC Abu Dhabi and TBC Dubai & Northern Emirates.
Various issues where discussed during this meeting with a strong emphasis on how to reduce excessive red-tape, ease the overall process and how can the relationship between the Tunisian Customs and investors be improved.
Being directly in charge of the Non Resident Tunisians Office (“Bureau des Tunisiens Residents à l’Etranger”), General Masmoudi has agreed to personally review requests of of TBC Abu Dhabi and TBC Dubai members and assist them with respect to their investments under the favorable tax regime reserved for Non Resident Tunisians investors.
Mr. Raouf El May (former President of TBC Dubai & Northern Emirates) also attended this meeting in his capacity of Member of the Assembly of the Representatives of the People.
Follow-up meetings are scheduled during the next visits in Tunisia of TBC Dubai & Northern Emirates representatives.
On the occasion of the celebration of Tunisia Independence Day, the TBC Dubai & Northern Emirates participated to a reception organized by the General Consulate in Dubai, with the presence of H.E Lotfi Benameur, General Counsul.
